It's happened to us all and likely more than once. We line up for the putt read the break and speed of the green and get everything right and then the ball just stops right on the edge of the cup as if mocking us. If a gnat landed on it it would fall but nooooo it just hangs there taunting us.
Meanwhile your buddies are laughing at your situation that turned a birdie into a par hole or in my case a par into a bogie hole. And if your golf buddies are also good friends they are going to make you finish the ball rather then just pick it up because that's what friends do, make you suffer just a bit more for their amusement.
